I am an ecologist with over 15 years experience in UK Ecology and Conservation but in recent years my focus has been on socio-ecology (or social and ecological systems) and narrative ecology. More about both of those elsewhere in due course
This space is very much under construction and has been for a number of years. It is my own sensemaking and wayfinding space but also the current home of my new venture, RootSense.
(The picture above was taken in Amsterdam during a Warm Data Training week in APril 2026 and is in fact the a full-scale replica of the Amsterdam, a Dutch East India Company (VOC) ship from the 18th century, docked at the National Maritime Museum. I chose it because of the multiple and often conflicting stories that meet in its existence, from a spirit of adventure, discovery and curiosity but also colonialism and greed).
